About the Mophradat Art Time Residencies

Mophradat is a prominent arts organization that supports artists in the Arab world by providing platforms for their work and fostering global exchanges. In partnership with Kunstencentrum BUDA, a leading institution for contemporary arts in Kortrijk, Belgium, and the NEXT festival, this residency aims to nurture experimental and avant-garde performance projects that push boundaries in contemporary performance.

BUDA has been a hub for innovative artistic practices since its founding in 2006. Located in Kortrijk, BUDA is one of the largest workspaces for performing arts in Belgium. The center offers a collaborative environment where artists can focus on their projects with access to state-of-the-art facilities, technical support, and an artistic network. The NEXT festival, organized annually since 2008, is an international platform that brings together artists, cultural professionals, and audiences from various countries in the Eurometropolis Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai-Valenciennes region.

The Art Time Residencies offer the opportunity to develop new work in an environment that encourages artistic exchange, creative freedom, and the exploration of innovative forms of performance. The residency culminates in the presentation of the artist’s new work at the NEXT festival, an important event for cultural exchange and the sharing of new ideas in the performing arts.
